Winter Weather Updates/Closings Jan. 21

Patch will post weather related updates to this article on Jan. 21.

  • As of 2 a.m. Carroll County is in a snow emergency according to a Tweet from the State Highway Administration. What does that mean? You cannot park on roads and streets that are desginated as snow emergency routes and drivers should use snow tires or chains (this is not really relevant anymore as many cars use all weather tires).
  • Carroll Community College will open at noon. GED testing scheduled at Carroll Community College today has been rescheduled for Jan. 28.
  • Gold's Gym in Westminster posted on its Facebook page that today's 7:30 rpm and 8:15 BodyFlow classes are cancelled. The remaining morning classes will be decided by 8 a.m. A Tweet from Gold's said that all morning classes are cancelled and the kids club is closed. The gym is open though.
  • According to Carroll County public schools: The snow emergency plan has gone into effect, therefore, all Carroll County Public School System activities are canceled. At approximately 10 a.m. it was announced that because the snow emergency is still in effect, the county cheerleading and track championships are cancelled and a make up date will be announced Monday, Jan. 23.
  • Project C Dance Collective in Westminster posted on its Facebook page that due to the inclement weather, the studio is closed today and all classes and rehearsals are canceled.
