Winters Mill Takes Second Place in Cross Country Meet

Winters Mill took second place in both the boys and girls cross country events in the South Carroll Invite Saturday.

Severna Park won both races Saturday in light rain at South Carroll High School.

Hannah Oneda powered the girls to the second place finish with a time of 19:09.8, which is just a minute over the second-place finisher.

Scoring for the Falcons was Nicole Rutherford in ninth place, Hannah Gore in 36, Kim Meyers in 39 and Danielle May-West in 50.

In the boys race, Zach Hopkins paced the Falcons with sixth place. Rounding out the scoring for Winters Mill was Weston Carvalho in 11, Reilly Cox in 14, Alex Warfield in 17 and Will Weisgerber in 32.

The Westminster boys were 10 out of 22 teams with Alex Cooke as the top finisher at 28. Scoring for the Owls were Kevin Taylor at 38, Mark Walther at 40, Owen Budd at 66 and Hunter Mongold at 72.

The county teams will meet again next Saturday at Hereford High School for the Bull Run.
