The DuPage County Area Project held our annual Fundraiser last night at the St. Charles Zanies Comedy Club. This year we partnered with the Kiwanis club of Roselle and Bloomingdale. It was a success as we raised over $4,000. The money was raised through a combination of ticket sales, sponsorships, a 50/50 raffle, and a Sox tickets raffle. A special thanks to our King of Comedy, Tony Bonavolonta, whose sponsorship was worth a thousand dollars. It was a sold out show with ninety of those in attendance supporters of DuCAP and the headline comedian was Mike Toomey, who is regularly seen on the WGN morning news in Chicago.
It was wonderful to see our supporters come and enjoy a night together filled with laughs. Most of all it is encouraging to know that so many people support DuCAP’s mission of uniting families within communities to resources, services and education that will provide a positive impact to their daily lives and further promote a healthy environment in which children can live and grow successfully.
The next fundraiser that DuCAP is involved with is a car wash on June 22 at the Marian Park Apartments. All proceeds will go to the Playground Improvement Fund.
