Bikes are vehicals

99% of drivers I've come across go so far out of their way to accommodate me that I feel bad. I try to take to the side walks so people don't have to go out of their way for me. I want to thank each and everyone of you for being so good to me on the road. If you ever see a cyclist waving thanks, we really, truly mean it.

I encountered one lady the other day who stood away from the group, and nearly killed me, then chased me when she didn't get her way.

I was cycling on Amherst. This section of Amherst is narrow, with parked cars on either side. A lady in an SUV was impatient and tried passing me; since the road is so narrow, she had to go all the way into the oncoming traffic to pass.

There was an oncoming car, so she came back into the lane, only she hadn't passed me so she came right on top of me. She was about to smash me against the parked cars. I yelled and tried to make eye contact, but she kept coming. In a panic, I kicked her car which got her to back off.

A hundred feet ahead, there was a stop sign with several stopped cars, so even if she passed me, she would have had to wait at the stop sign.

After that, she chased me into the new townhouses where I lost her.

I took a video of the entire event with my GoPro bike camera, and I'll post it to youtube soon.

Simply being annoyed isn't worth someone's life.
