MARKET WATCH - September Marks the 8th Consecutive Month of Year-Over-Year Price Gains in DC Metro

The latest statistics are in and there is much to talk about. The market was very strong in August and has cooled off some this September, with closed contracts, and pending contracts declining. However, this September we are seeing the highest median price in the last five years and the highest number of contracts in the last three years. The median price for Montgomery County is $370,000 up from $338,000 last September.

One important contributing factor to the rise in home prices has been the low inventory. We are seeing multiple offer scenarios and Sellers receiving full price for their homes because of the lack of inventory.
