Community Corner

"Blue Christmas" service

Not everyone feels jolly at Christmas time, especially with this year's horrific tragedy in Sandy Hook. The Blue Christmas Service is open to anyone who is struggling with life or faith this holiday season.

In this service we come to God "as is." Tears and sadness are allowed; there is no need here to hide them behind a smile. Difficulties have permission to come to the surface; they don't have to be buried. Those dealing with depression, discouragement, pain or grief can seek comfort from the Savior who came to comfort the earth. Those who are hungry in heart can let God feed them with words of hope. Those who are weary and carrying heavy burdens can find rest for their souls in Christ.

This service is not just open to the community, it is held for  the community. All are welcome.
