Free Engraving Event: Prevent Your Work Tools From Getting Stolen
You're more likely to get your stolen work tools back if they're engraved. To get them engraved for free, come to Wheaton on Tuesday.
WHEATON, MD — In an effort to reduce the number of tool thefts from work vehicles, the Montgomery County Police Department will be hosting a work tool engraving event Tuesday in Wheaton.
"Engraving your work tools (or any other property) with a unique identifier (such as a driver's license number) enables officers to more easily identify the rightful owners to that property if a thief is ever caught in possession of stolen tools or stolen property," the police department wrote on the Facebook event page.
The free event is open to all and will be held at the 4th District Station located at 2300 Randolph Rd. You can swing by and get your work tools engraved any time between 5 and 9 p.m.
