Man Struck By Train At Wheaton Station: Metro Officials

WHEATON, MD — A man was struck by a Red Line train Tuesday morning, according to WMATA officials. The incident occurred at the Wheaton Metro station at 11171 Georgia Ave. in Silver Spring.

A Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman said the patient was removed from the trackbed and is being treated while en route to a local hospital. His injuries are serious, but non-life-threatening.

Metro officials are investigating the incident.

Red Line trains are no longer single-tracking between Glenmont and Forest Glen. However, WMATA says to expect residual delays in both directions.
