The 10 Best Hospitals In MA: New National Ranking

MASSACHUSETTS — Ten hospitals have been ranked the best in Massachusetts in a new report from Newsweek.

Massachusetts General Hospital, in Boston, is the top-ranked hospital in Massachusetts in Newsweek and data partner Statista’s America’s Best In-State Hospitals 2025 ranking of more than 700 medical centers nationwide.

Other Massachusetts hospitals, listed in ranked order, include:

• Brigham and Women's Hospital
• Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center
• Tufts Medical Center
• Lahey Hospital and Medical Center
• UMass Memorial Medical Center
• Newton-Wellesley Hospital
• Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital
• Boston Medical Center
• Milford Regional Medical Center

The 2025 best in-state hospitals list features medical facilities in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The hospitals were ranked based on quality metrics from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and national surveys, including:

• The American Hospital Association’s Annual Survey of Hospitals Database, an online nationwide survey among medical professionals;
• Results from Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems patient-experience surveys; and
• Voluntary implementation surveys on PROMs (patient-reported outcome measures).
