2 Massachusetts Stores Sell $1 Million Powerball Winners

Do you live in a town beginning with "Med"? Then you may be in luck...

MASSACHUSETTS — Once again, no one won the massive, over $1 billion jackpot in Powerball, but two tickets sold in Massachusetts didn't do to shabby. Two players won $1 million each in Wednesday night's drawing.

One of the winners purchased the lucky ticket at Cumberland Farms at 41 Milford St. in Medway.

The other winner purchased their ticket at the Wegmans at 3580 Mystic Valley Parkway in Medford, according to Mass Lottery.

While towns beginning with "Med" had a good night, Medfield was left out of the party.

Another Powerball ticket sold in Massachusetts netted a $150,000 prize. That ticket was purchased in Halifax at the Harmony Two Liquors store.

The numbers for Wednesday night's drawing were 11, 38, 41, 62, 65, and red Powerball 15. The Power Play multiplier was 3. The $1 million winners picked all five white ball numbers correctly.

There were two other $1 million winners in California in Wednesday night's drawing, along with one $1 million winner each in Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, South Carolina, and Washington.

The Powerball jackpot has now hit $1.23 million. The jackpot's cash value is estimated at $595.1 million, according to Powerball.

The jackpot prizes in each game may be paid over 30 years, but most winners take the lump sum. They immediately see fewer dollars flow into their account than if they took the 30-year annuity because the federal government takes its cut off the top.

No one has won the game's jackpot since New Year's Day, making it the fourth-largest in the game's history.

The next Powerball drawing is Saturday at 10:59 p.m.

The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 24.9.

The odds of winning the jackpot are, as you might expect, a bit lower: 1 in 292.2 million.
