A discount department store chain is set to debut its first group of stores in Massachusetts this year.
Ross will open three stores in the Bay State by next spring, a company spokesperson told Patch. The retailer, best known as one of the largest off-price retail chains in the U.S., will debut locations in Danvers, West Springfield and Chicopee.
The company operates more than 1,900 locations in over 40 states. It sells clothing, footwear, accessories and home goods at prices it says are generally 20 percent to 60 percent below regular department and specialty store prices.
The Danvers and West Springfield stores will open in October, while Chicopee is planned to open in March 2027. The Massachusetts openings come after Ross announced the grand opening of 47 new stores nationwide during June and July.
"Each new opening allows us to deliver compelling value to even more customers while creating new jobs and making a positive impact in the local communities," said Richard Lietz, Executive Vice President, Property Development. "Looking ahead, we see attractive opportunities as off‑price continues to grow, and we are well positioned to capitalize on them."
Ross did not share the exact addresses or opening dates for the three locations. A company spokesperson told Patch that more details on grand opening celebrations would be available as the opening date approaches.
