Beloved Mexican Eatery To Close Location In Hudson

The closure comes almost two months after the restaurant announced its plans to expand.

HUDSON, MA — A popular Mexican restaurant in Hudson announced it will close its doors at the end of the month.

Lalo's Mexican Restaurant said it will shutter on Mar. 29. This comes after the business at 158 Main St. said its current lease ended and was not renewed.

Lalo's owners, Vanessa Ceja, Gerardo Guzman and Edgar, even said they had explored buying the property but were unsuccessful, according to a social media post from the business on Friday.

"This is incredibly difficult for our family to share, because Hudson has meant so much to us over the years. What started as a small dream for our family turned into something truly special because of all of you," Lalo's owners shared in a social media post. "We have watched families grow, celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, and countless milestones together. Many of you walked through our doors as guests and quickly became friends. The love and support this community has shown us is something we will never forget."

This news comes almost two months after the Mexican restaurant announced its plans to expand to Southborough. It's expected to open at 154 Turnpike Rd.

The restaurant has not yet said when it plans to open, but announced its intentions in a social media post in January.

Lalo's also operates a location at 460 Lincoln St. in Marlborough.
