Gov.-Elect Healey Tour Of MA Includes Food Drives, Gift Giveaways

MASSACHUSETTS — Before officially taking office on Jan. 5, Democratic Gov.-elect Maura Healey and Lt. Gov.-elect Kim Driscoll will appear at five events at different locations across the state to talk to residents and participate in community activities.

The stops on the "Team Up Massachusetts" tour were revealed Wednesday. The incoming governors will host a main inauguration party on Jan. 5 at the TD Bank Center in Boston.

"These events will highlight the Healey-Driscoll Administration’s priority of making Massachusetts more affordable and delivering for families struggling to get by," the inaugural committee said in a news release Wednesday.

Here are the stops on the tour in order of when they happen:

• Jan. 2, noon — A holiday gift giveaway for Three Kings Day at New North Citizens’ Council Youth Center, 4 Birnie Ave., Springfield.
• Jan. 2, 2:30 p.m. — A coat and food drive at the Worcester County Food Bank partner El Buen Samartino, 39 Piedmont St., Worcester.
• Jan. 3, 12:30 p.m. — A school supply and healthy food giveaway at Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro South’s Taunton Clubhouse, 31 Court St., Taunton.
• Jan. 3, 3 p.m. — A healthy prepared meal and distribution of produce at the Family Table Collaborative, 1338 Route 28, South Yarmouth.
• Jan. 4, 3 p.m. — A family support drive at Lowell High School, 50 Father Morissette Boulevard, Lowell.
