MASSACHUSETTS — While you might associate February with frigid wind and trekking through slush, that won't be the case this week. The state is expected to see near-record warmth later this week, with temperatures close to 60 degrees in some spots.

The National Weather Service forecast for Boston calls for highs of 54 on Wednesday, 59 on Thursday, and 51 on Friday. Worcester will experience similarly balmy temperatures of 53 on Wednesday, 57 on Thursday, and 51 on Friday. It won't get quite as warm on the coast: highs in Hyannis will be 47 on Wednesday, 49 on Thursday, and 48 on Friday.

Skies should be clear Wednesday and most of Thursday with rain moving in Thursday night. For Boston, there's a 70 percent chance of rain Thursday night, and an 80 percent chance of rain Friday. Winds are anticipated to pick up with gusts over 20 mph.
