Here's MA's Fall Forecast From The Old Farmer's Almanac

While Massachusetts is being soaked in a bath of high heat, very high humidity and occasional downpours this week, the inevitable fall cool-down is creeping up on the region faster than you may realize.

The majority of New England residents can expect cooler-than-normal temperatures this fall, according to a new seasonal forecast from The Old Farmer's Almanac.

The fall forecast calls for a cool and dry fall season for parts of southern New England, and cool and wet conditions for northern and western New England.

Across the country, the Almanac expects warmer-than-normal temperatures across much of the nation’s interior, including the northern Plains, Heartland and Deep South. Cooler conditions are forecast along the Pacific Coast and across much of the eastern United States.

Rainfall is expected to be below normal across much of the country. Wetter-than-usual conditions are forecast along parts of the West Coast, in the central and northern Rockies, in parts of Texas, southern Florida and the Northeast.

The Almanac's long-range forecasts identify broad temperature and precipitation trends and are not intended to predict the weather on specific days.

Meteorological fall begins Sept. 1 and runs through Nov. 30. Astronomical fall begins with the autumnal equinox on Sept. 22.
