Information Sought On Armed Robbery Suspect: Ashby Police
He is believed responsible for convenience stores robberies — at least two armed — in recent weeks, Chief Fred Alden said.
ASHBY, MA — The Ashby Police Department is seeking the public's help in identifying a man they believe is responsible for three convenience stores robberies — at least two of them armed — in recent weeks, Chief Fred Alden said.
At around 7:10 p.m. on Sunday, officers responded to the Low Low Convenience Store on Fitchburg State Road, for a report of a knife-point robbery, police said.
Investigators believe a man, wearing a black ski mask, a gray winter hat, a red shirt, and a black winter jacket, walked into the store and demanded money from the cashier while waving a knife, police said, adding that the suspect bolted from the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and he was last seen heading south on Fitchburg State Road in what was believed to be a white four-door GMC pickup truck.

In a Dec. 20 robbery, at the Convenience Mart on Main Street, the suspect told the cashier that he had a knife, but did not produce one, police said. On Dec. 31, police believe the same man robbed the Convenience Mart again, but did wave a knife and said he also had a gun, according to police. Each time, he stole an undisclosed amount of money and fled the area, police said.
No one was injured in any of the incidents, according to police.

Area police departments have been notified of his description and that of his vehicle, according to police.
