MASSACHUSETTS — Everyone wants a shot at the $1.55 billion Mega Millions jackpot. But not everyone wants to get off the couch to buy a ticket.

Fortunately, a new app has you covered. Lottery players can now get tickets from their phones for a variety of games via the Jackpocket app. Launched recently in Massachusetts, Jackpocket is considered a courier service that allows players to order lottery tickets like users of Uber Eats or Caviar order food.

A Jackpocket customer won $100,000 in the MassCash drawing last month.

Peter Sullivan, CEO of Jackpocket, said the app's mission is to make the lottery more accessible and convenient to play and that it's now "easier than ever to play your favorite games from anywhere in Massachusetts."

Jackpocket is partnering with Circle K in the app's Massachusetts launch. The app is not affiliated with Massachusetts State Lottery. Players using the app must verify that they're 18 or older before ordering a ticket.

Jackpocket is offering lottery players their first ticket for free on the app. New players will receive a $2 lottery ticket by entering the code HEYMASS at checkout. The offer is valid for Mega Millions, Powerball, and several other games.

Massachusetts is the 17th state available for lottery play on the Jackpocket app.

The next Mega Millions drawing is Tuesday at 11 p.m. The $1.55 billion jackpot could be a record. The previous Mega Millions record jackpot was $1.537 billion, which was won in South Carolina in 2018.
