Late Season Nor'easter Expected To Hit MA With Heavy Rain, Snow
Heavy rain and strong winds are expected across the state with the possibility of late season snow in some parts of Massachusetts.

MASSACHUSETTS — It may be officially spring, but winter's last grasp is about to descend on Massachusetts starting today.
National Weather Service officials say a late season nor'easter is expected today, bringing heavy rains, strong winds and even the possibility of snow in parts of the state.
In the northeastern part of the state and Greater Boston, forecasters project 2 to 3 inches of rain starting to fall on Wednesday with the rest of the state projected between 1 to 2 inches of rain.

That rainfall is bringing concerns for "minor to moderate" coastal flooding around Thursday morning high tide, and there is also some concern regarding river flooding starting on Thursday.
The northeast coastline could see beach erosion due to wave action, forecasters said, but there is still uncertainty about the amount of storm surge this storm could bring.

There is also the chance for snow with this nor'easter, with the greatest possibility starting on Wednesday night.
National Weather Service experts say the snow will be wet and dense, potentially causing problems with downed tree limbs and power lines. Strong winds starting mid-day Wednesday and lasting through Thursday afternoon could add insult to injury if snow does accumulate.
Six to 8 inches of snow are projected in a small portion of north Massachusetts, those most areas that could see snow sit somewhere between 1 to 2 inches. (See the snowfall forecast below.)
