'Little Nugget:' Dog Left On The Side Of A MA Road Needs A Name
After Leominster Fitchburg Animal Control shared her photos on Facebook, the little dog quickly captured the hearts of the community.
LEOMINSTER, MA — Animal Control officials are looking for a name for a "little nugget"—who appears to be a chihuahua or chihuahua mix—found in a crate on the side of the road on Nashua Street in Leominster Tuesday morning.
After Leominster Fitchburg Animal Control shared her photos on Facebook, the little dog quickly captured the hearts of the community. Though they have to hold her for seven days, animal control officials said they were immediately "inundated with calls from people wishing to foster or adopt."
But in the meantime, every dog needs a name, and officials want the dog's adoring fans to help choose hers.

"Drop the name of your choosing in the comments below and will let you know which name we decide on," Leominster Fitchburg Animal Control wrote later Tuesday, alongside a new photo of the bright-eyed dog seeming to pose for the camera.
Anyone with information about the dog or who she belongs to is being urged to contact Leominster Fitchburg Animal Control at 978-514-2381.
