Campus police at Bridgewater State University say the World Mission Church has been asking for students' personal information.
BRIDGEWATER, MA — Students at Bridgewater State University are being warned of a religious group reportedly approaching people on campus and asking for their personal information.
Campus police said representatives of the World Mission Society Church of God (World Mission Church) have been recruiting students in a way that some have described as "aggressive," Boston 25 reported.
Students have been asked to watch videos or look at materials about "God the Mother" and provide their names, social security numbers, birthdates, email addresses and other personal information, according to the network.

The church did not immediately respond to a Patch request for comment.
Police cleared up rumors that the group is associated with human trafficking, but they advised students to be cautious when approached by unfamiliar people. The group is not permitted to be on campus and will be escorted from the premises and issued a no-trespassing order if they are found by police.
