MA To See Thunder, Above-Average Temperatures: Forecast

MASSACHUSETTS — Dry, milder weather returns to the region Monday, but there's a chance of showers Tuesday through Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures are expected to be warmer than normal except for Wednesday, when the forecast calls for highs in the 40s.

A cold front will move across the region Thursday, leading to chances of rain and thunder but considerably warmer weather.

High pressure Friday through the weekend will result in dry conditions and seasonal temperatures.

The National Weather Service tweeted the following about Monday's forecast: "Dry and milder weather returns today but will be accompanied by gusty southwest winds as high-pressure slides offshore."

For Boston, the forecast calls for sunny skies and a high of 53 Monday. Temperatures will climb along with a chance of showers Tuesday, high of 59. Rain is likely Wednesday and temperatures will cool down to 46. Warmer weather arrives Thursday with a high of 70 with more showers predicted. The rain clears out Friday and Saturday with more seasonable high temperatures.

In Worcester, Monday is predicted to be sunny with a high of 54. There's a slight chance of showers with temperatures climbing to 62. A 60 percent chance of showers with patchy fog is forecast for Wednesday with a chilly high of 45. More showers for Thursday but a balmy 68 degrees. Then sunny skies will finally return Friday and Saturday with temperatures in the 50s.

Out on Cape Cod, the forecast for Monday is sunny and 49. Tuesday will be mostly cloudy with a high of 54. There's a 40 percent chance of showers Wednesday with a high of 48. Thursday has a similar chance of precipitation along with breezy conditions and a high of 56. Then Friday and Saturday will have clear skies with temperatures in the upper 40s to low 50s.
