Man Guilty Of Threatening 911 Dispatcher Day Before Jan. 6 Riot
Jonathan Munafo, formerly of Massachusetts, told a Michigan dispatcher he would "cut her throat" and also threatened her family.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — A man who called a Michigan 911 dispatcher the day before taking part in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol pleaded guilty this week to threatening her and her family, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
Authorities said Jonathan Joshua Munafo, 35, originally from Massachusetts, called the Calhoun County 911 dispatch line more than 140 times on Jan. 5, 2021, and demanded to speak with a deputy sheriff or sergeant.
When the dispatcher refused, Munafo threatened her, saying, "I’m gonna cut your throat. I’m gonna make you eat your f---ing nose," according to court documents. He also said after the "Insurrection Act," he was "coming to your door first" and "it’s going to go way worse for your family."

Cell phone location records revealed Munafo placed the calls from a truck stop in North Carolina, authorities said. He faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
The next day, Munafo is accused of participating in the attack on the U.S. Capitol, according to a separate indictment by a federal grand jury in the District of Columbia.

In that case, authorities have accused Munafo of punching a U.S. Capitol police officer, using a flagpole to attempt to break windows at the U.S. Capitol and stealing a riot shield, Michigan Live reported citing the FBI’s statement of facts.
Munafo faces a total of nine charges in connection to the Jan. 6 attack. According to Michigan Live, he currently lives in Albany, New York.
