Multiple New England Colleges Soar Past $90K Annual Tuition: Report

That's well over double the average cost of tuition and fees at a private, nonprofit university.

MASSACHUSETTS — The tuition for multiple New England colleges will soar above a record-high $90,000 next year, according to a Boston.com report.

Tufts leads what the outlet called the "high-tuition pack" of schools — also including Boston University, Yale University, and Wellesley College — with an annual cost of nearly $96,000 beginning the 2024-2025 school year, the report said.

That's well over double the national average cost of tuition and fees at a private, nonprofit university, which the Education Data Initiative said was $38,768 annually in 2023. These figures do not include scholarship money and financial aid.
