Popular MA Furniture Retailer Files For Bankruptcy After Closing All Stores: Report
This comes after the business abruptly shuttered its stores across Massachusetts a few days before Christmas.
MASSACHUSETTS — A popular New England furniture retailer has filed for bankruptcy more than a month after closing all of its stores.
Circle Furniture has filed for bankruptcy, according to a filing obtained by WCVB. This comes after the business abruptly closed its eight stores across Massachusetts and New Hampshire a few days before Christmas.
As stores were closing, a banner on the business's website read, "All Circle Furniture locations are CLOSED till further notice." Now the website no longer loads.

The business, based in Acton, has more than $13.7 million in liabilities but reports $2.2 million in assets, according to WCVB.

The company operated locations in Acton, Cambridge, Framingham, Hyannis, Middleton, Pembroke, Boston's Seaport neighborhood, and Portsmouth, New Hampshire. It most recently opened its Hyannis storefront in May, according to a social media post.
Patch has reached out to Circle Furniture for comment and has not yet heard back.
