These MA Cities Land On Job Misery Index—Here’s Why
If you hate your job, you're not alone. A new analysis shows that workers in three Massachusetts cities are right there with you.
CONNECTICUT — Many people hate their jobs, a fact that's especially true in one Massachusetts city.
Lowell was No. 23 in the country when it comes to job misery. The new study analyzed thousands of TikTok posts to find out which cities have the most unhappy workers.
"Social media has become a major outlet for people to vent about their jobs, and TikTok is no exception," the study from resume.io reads. "Hashtags like #WhyAmIHere, #MondayMisery, and #NotLivingTheDream might sound like jokes, but they often hide real frustration with work."

Another New England city leads the way when it comes to hating jobs: Hartford was No. 1 with 1,295 posts.
What's making workers these days so unhappy? One of the factors resume.io included was something Massachusetts workers are all too familiar with: the high cost of living. Having demanding jobs that create stress, working long hours, and earning low pay were other leading factors.
