Who Profits From Springfield, MA's Springfield College?--Part 1

Time to require "non-profit" Springfield College to pay a fair share of local, state and federal taxes?

According to 2020 U.S. census data, at least 27 percent of the 153,000 people who reside in Springfield, Massachusetts are considered to be economically impoverished.

Yet, according to its Form 990 financial filing for 2019, between July 1, 2019 and June 30, 2020, the Springfield, Massachusetts-based, federaly tax-exempted and "non-profit" Springfield College paid the following total annual compensations:

1. Springfield College President Mary-Beth A. Cooper was paid a total annual compensation of $757,004 (which included a bonus of $150,000);

2. Springfield College VP for Finance and Administration and Treasurer John L. Mailhot was paid a total annual compensation of $275,592;

3. Springfield College VP for Academic Affairs Martha A. Potvin waas paid a total annual compensation of $267,617;

6. Springfield College VP for Enrollment Management Stuart D. Jones was paid a total annual compensation of $212,334;

7. Former Springfield VP for Development John A. White was paid a total annual compensation of $211,053;

8. Springfield College VP for Institutional Advancement Kathleen A. Martin was paid a total annual compensation of $204,765.

9. Springfield College Associate Vice-President of Academic Affairs John A. Eisler was paid a total annual compensation of $189,512;

10. Springfield College Associate Vice-President of Graduate Education James D. Harasberger was paid a total annual compensation of $186,646;

11. Springfield College Dean of Health Sciences Brooke Hallowell was paid a total annual compensation of $184,188;

12. Springfield College Senior Associate Vice-President of Academic Affairs Mary Ann Coughin was paid a total annual compensation of $174,982;

13. Springfield College Vice-President for Inclusion and Community Calvin R. Hill was paid a total annual compensation of $170,226; and
