Woman Killed In Crash On Route 9

A 37-year-old woman from Leominster has died after a two-vehicle crash on Friday, police said.

SOUTHBOROUGH, MA — One person has died, and another was injured after a fatal collision on Route 9 overnight on Friday.

The Southborough Police Department responded to a car crash on Turnpike Road, Route 9 East, shortly before 3 a.m. Police said it recieved multiple 911 calls reporting a serious motor vehicle crash.

One of the drivers, a 37-year-old woman from Leominster, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other driver, a 23-year-old woman from Bolton, was taken to the a local hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening, police said.

WCVB reported that the collision happened near Southborough-Framingham line.

The crash is being investigated by the Southborough Police Department, along with members of the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council Crash Reconstruction Team and the Worcester County District Attorney's Office.
