Gov. Healey appointed Secretary Augustus in 2023. She said that together, they've passed the state's most comprehensive housing legislation ever and ushered in the development of 100,000 new housing units.
In his tenure, the state passed the Affordable Homes Act, a $5.2 billion investment in housing production that included 50 policy initiatives to expand housing tools throughout Massachusetts.
The Healey Administration has now tapped Rep. Juana Matias (D) to take Secretary Augustus's place.
