299 Main Street Dunkin' Donuts Gets a New Look
The newly renovated Dunkin' Donuts is updated with technology and community outreach.
Dunkin' Donuts on 299 Main Street just got a makeover.
For the past week, the business closed while the inside was stripped and gutted of its original design and revamped into a more modern coffee shop. As of Friday, February 25, Dunkin' Donuts has opened its doors for the public to see about the new flavor brewing.
According Mark Pesce, co-owner of 11 Dunkin' Donuts in the Acton area (including the store on 299 Main Street), every shop in the chain must renovate every 10 years.

“It is important to keep current,” said Pesce.
And if current means a large flat-screen TV playing Sports Center or 24/7-news, they have successfully modernized their shop.

The newly renovated Dunkin' Donuts also has new lighting, new countertops, new wallpaper, new employee uniforms, a new oven, different seating (cushioned seats) and a baby-changing station in both bathrooms.
“They (Dunkin’ Brand, Inc.) came up with a new general image for their stores and we had to adhere to their request, but just being in the business for so long and opening so many stores we definitely knew what would work and what we already wanted going into the remodeling,” said Michelle Wise, Director of Guest Relations for the Dunkin' Donuts on Main Street.
The new image of Dunkin' Donuts has seemed to have targeted just about every demographic. The new Dunkin' Donuts wallpaper features a cartoonish construction worker, a hip-guitar-playing woman, a bald business man, a couple with a baby stroller and a female officer – all walking and drinking a Dunkin' Donuts coffee.
Acton Runs on Dunkin'
As you walk in on your right, above a big sign that says, “Our Community Runnin’ on Dunkin’,” there is a new bulletin board where community members can post information, if given permission. In-between the bulletin board are two Acton-Boxborough Regional High School sports jerseys. According to Pesce, they would like to consider highlighting a student athlete every-so-often, but nothing is currently in the works. Though, during football season, the Dunkin Donut employees wear Colonial football jerseys.
“We wanted to give the community a place to highlight their local events on the board and also, a comfortable atmosphere where they can gather,” said Pesce. “We are a national brand, but we are locally owned and operated and I think that is what we are trying to portray here.”
