3 A-B Students Named In Threat Found On Bathroom Wall

Police said the students, all of whom are of Indian descent, returned to school Friday under a safety plan.

ACTON, MA — Police are investigating after they say the names of students were found in threats scrawled across a stall in the girls' bathroom at Acton-Boxborough Regional High School. Superintendent Peter Light and Acton Police Chief Richard Burrows said a school administrator was alerted to the message Thursday, finding a threat to harm three specific students, all of whom are of Indian descent.

Administrators locked the bathroom and notified the school resource officer. The students who were named in the threat were brought their counselors' offices and their parents notified. The students came to school Friday under a safety plan developed by police and school officials.

Police are reviewing surveillance footage.

"Due to the sensitive nature of the investigation we were not able to share this information previously. The nature of the threat did not cause immediate concern for the broader school community and a plan was put in place to ensure student safety," Light said. "The Acton-Boxborough Regional School District enjoys a strong partnership with its municipal police departments, and we are working together to determine the facts and circumstances surrounding this disturbing threat on our students."
