B&E, Shoplifting, and a Person Gets Spooked

A Scream:

  • 3/22/12 - 1:38 p.m. - John Swift Road: Police received a report about a woman screaming in the area. The area was checked and nothing suspicious was found.

Home Alone 13 Year-Old Deals with Break In:

  • 3/22/12 - 5:40 p.m. - Hosmer Street: The mother of a 13 year-old girl, who was home alone, said two men were trying to gain entry into the house. The daughter was advised to lock herself in the back bedroom. The daughter said two men left in a dark blue pick-up truck. The Massachusetts State Police were notified.

, 54, of 58 Spencer Road, Apt. 16K, Boxborough

  • Arrested on: 3/23/12 - 252 Main Street, Acton
  • Charged with: Shoplifting by Asporation
  • Narrative: Police were called after Oakes was caught shoplifting.
  • Arresting officer: Stephen McCarthy

, 30, of 182 Old Marlboro Road, Concord

  • Arrested on: 3/24/12 - 70 Parker Street, Apt. B, Acton
  • Charged with: Destruction of Property (-$250 Wanton) - Disturbing the Peace
  • Narrative: Police received a report of a male dressed in all black that had a fight with a neighbor and smashed their window.
  • Arresting officer: Stephen McCarthy

Brush Fire:

  • 3/24/12 - 10:19 a.m. - Arlington Street: Acton fire responded to a brush fire that the owner was unable to gain control.

Charged with Assault and Battery:

  • On March 25, a minor was charged with Assault and Battery at Strawberry Hill Road.

Spooked:

  • 3/25/12 - 8:43 p.m. - Massachusetts Avenue: Police received a report from someone that saw a mini van's door open with no one in the car or around the area. Police spoke with the owner of the van and he said that the 'open-door' button on his key chain accidentally went off.
