ABRHS to present 'Revolutionary' original play Feb. 9-10

Proscenium Circus at Acton-Boxborough Regional High School is taking a "revolutionary" approach to its annual state drama festival play this year, presenting the world premier of a student-written drama, “Son of Liberty,” at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Feb. 9-10, ABRHS Auditorium, 36 Charter Rd.

An original work inspired by last year's sophomore class play, “Son of Liberty” is based upon historical events of the American Revolution, and examines a community on the brink of war. Boston must decide how it will respond to the latest Tea Act passed by the British Parliament as the Sons of Liberty struggle to maintain order and unity within their party. A Loyalist's son, Thomas Wells, is torn between allegiance to his family and the dreams he has for his future.

Your support helps PC take this play on the road to the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild High School Drama Festival in March. PC has informally rated this show PG-13 for violence based on true historical events.
