Acton Cooperative Preschool Celebrates 58th Anniversary

The Acton Cooperative Preschool celebrated its 58th anniversary with community service project benefiting Boston Children's Hospital.

In 2015, the Acton Cooperative School will be celebrating its 58th year as a cooperative preschool serving children in the Acton area. In early March, the school celebrated this occasion with a cake and a performance by local magician Mike Bent’s Abrakidabra. The Coop community also collected over 100 brand-new art supplies, toys and other fun items for children who are long-term patients at the Boston Children’s Hospital on the transplant floor. Before the magician’s performance, the children decorated posters with encouraging sayings and colorful drawings to hang on the walls of that particular ward.

The Acton Cooperative Preschool, located at 592 Massachusetts Avenue in West Acton is a NAEYC accredited preschool offering 2 and 3-day classes for 3-year olds, morning and afternoon programs for 4-year olds, a pre-kindergarten program, 5-week Mommy and Me classes for 2-year olds, and extended day options. The Acton Coop’s parental involvement allows parents to understand and have input into their child’s experiences, individual progress, and developing friendships. The preschool provides experienced, specially trained teachers, a healthy safe environment, community involvement and a reasonable tuition. The Acton Coop children are from area towns: Acton, Boxborough, Concord, Littleton, Maynard, Stow and more.

If you are interested in scheduling a tour of the Coop, please contact Kim Davis, Director, for more information at (978) 263-4547 or by emailing info@actoncoop.com.
