Acton Cooperative School Donates Winter Clothing
The Acton Cooperative School donated warm winter clothing to deserving children for a community service project.

During the months of November and December, families, friends and alumni at the Acton Cooperative School collected warm winter clothing for students at the Oliver Wendell Holmes Integrated Preschool in Dorchester. The Acton Cooperative School began its collection when it came to the school’s attention that those students were often spending valuable outdoor time indoors in the winter months because they did not have enough warm outdoor clothing.
The Acton Cooperative School was able to collect a total of 38 winter jackets, 20 snow pants and snow suits, 27 pairs of boots, 20 fleeces and vests and 27 hats & mittens/gloves. Now the educators at the Oliver Wendell Holmes Integrated Preschool can ensure the safety of their students while they enjoy the cold and snowy weather. The clothing collection also provided the teachers and parents the opportunity to teach the concept and importance of community service to the Coop students.
The Acton Cooperative Preschool, located at 592 Massachusetts Avenue in West Acton is a NAEYC accredited preschool offering 2 and 3-day classes for 3-year olds, morning and afternoon programs for 4-year olds, a pre-kindergarten program, 5-week Mommy and Me classes for 2-year olds, and extended day options.
