Acton Fire Dept. Puts Out Grocery Store Grease Fire

The store was temporarily evacuated after smoke set off the fire alarms.

ACTON, MA — Acton fire crews made quick work of a grocery store grease fire on Friday. The fire happened in the kitchen of Idlywilde Farms at 366 Central St.

The Acton Fire Department received a call around 1:30 p.m. The small fire was contained to the kitchen and deli area — the smoke triggered the alarms throughout the store, fire officials said. The store was temporarily evacuated.

Fire crews were able to put the fire out with a handheld fire extinguisher by 1:42 p.m. No one was injured.
