Acton Fireworks 2017: Where To Watch, Celebration

The daylong celebration will be July 1 this year and capped with a spectacular fireworks display.

ACTON, MA — Acton's Fourth of July will be taking place this year on July 1, complete with a spectacular fireworks display at night. The day will be free and open to all, including families looking to have fun. (No rain date is planned.)

The day begins at 3 p.m. with Family Fun Time, followed by a Welcome Ceremony at 6:30 p.m. and a free concert featuring Thirty6Red at 7 p.m. The fireworks take place at 9:30 p.m.

You can enter the park at two locations: the lower bus drop-off area on Ledge Rock Way and the other entry via the TownForest footpath onto Quarry Road/NARA upper parking lot. On the other end at Nagog Park Drive, there will be designated bus stops along Nagog Park Drive for pick-up and drop-off.

Complimentary shuttle buses will be offered at 2 p.m. to take folks to and from NARA Park from designated off-site parking lots located along Nagog Park Drive. It is highly recommended you take the 10-minute lighted Town Forest Trail located at the end of Nagog Park Drive to enter the park, particularly during high traffic times.

Food and drink vendors will be available.

While the day is free to enjoy, donations are appreciated to help cover expenses. A ticket can be purchased for all-you-can ride Family Fun Time which includes moonbounces, 35’ inflatable obstacle course, slip n’ slide and water slide as well as games. A train ride will also be onsite for a $3 fee per person.

You may want to bring blankets and chairs for the night's concert.

NARA Beach will remain open for regular business hours with daily fee of $6 per Acton resident or non-resident rate of $8 for ages 2- 11 and $10 for ages 12 & up. NARA picnic areas are not available on this day.

The beach parking lot will be open for beach season passholders only. All other guests will be directed to use the NARA upper parking lot off Quarry Road until the lot is full. Once parking at upper lot is full or closed (beginning at 2:00 P.M.) all cars will then be directed to park at Nagog Park Drive.

The fireworks can be viewed from all areas of the 40+ acre NARA site. They continue to be donated by local businesses Donelan’s Supermarket and Gould’s Clothing.
