Acton Garden Club Grant Awards

Memorial and Citizens Libraries are the winners!

The Acton Garden Club Education Grant awarded the Acton Memorial Library $250.00 to support a horticulturist speaking to patrons on the benefits of birds, bees, and other insects in the garden. The goal is to promote understanding of gardening that helps the environment.

The second $250.00 grant was awarded to the West Acton Citizens’ Library to create a seed library for patrons. The grant will support the purchasing for seeds and books related to growing plants and the materials needed to allow for the “lending” of seeds. The program will be sustainable with new seeds returned to the library each year. An old card catalog will be used to store the seeds.
