Acton Passes Town Budget for 2017 Fiscal Year
Acton Town Meeting passed the Town Budget Monday during its inaugural session.

ACTON, MA—Acton Town Meeting passed the 2017 fiscal year Town Budget Monday during the inaugural session of Town Meeting
The 2017 operating budget reflects a 2.48 percent increase over the 2016 operating budget, which was approved by Town Meeting Monday.
The town estimated revenues of $89.3 million in total revenues, 82 percent of which come from local property taxes. In addition, the Town budgeted 62 percent of its expenses to go toward the Acton-Boxborough Regional School District, 37 percent to municipal expenses and one percent to go toward the Minuteman Regional School District.

Spending on schools will increase by nearly $2.4 million, municipal expenditures will increase by $701,753 and total spending will increase by nearly $3.3 million.
