Acton Patch Coverage Leading Up to the 9/11 Ceremony

Here are all the Acton Patch stories (articles, photos and videos) pertaining to the building of the Acton 9/11 Memorial. Also, information about the Acton 9/11 Memorial ceremony is provided.

Today is the 10th anniversary of 9/11. Several Acton volunteers came together to plan and construct a new Sept. 11 Memorial that will be unveiled outside the (PSF) today at 3 p.m. Parking for the handicap and elderly is available at the Public Safety Facility and all other parking is available at the . Public transportation will shuttle people from the high school to the PSF. 

The ceremony:

When: Sunday, September 11, 2011 - 3 p.m.

  • The Westford Fire Department will play bagpipes leading a small group of people into the ceremony.

  • Board of Selectmen Chair, Mike Gowing
  • Lauren Rosenzweig-Morton, Acton resident who lost her husband on 9/11/01

Musical Performance:

  • Nashville Recording Artist, Mychael David, will perform the National Anthem

The memorial is designed to not only to commemorate Acton residents who lost their lives that day, Madeline Amy Sweeney and Philip Rosenzweig, but for all those who lost their lives.
