Acton Police Attend Funeral of Slain NYPD Officer

Police from across Massachusetts traveled to New York City over the weekend to attend the funeral of a slain New York City police officer.

Tens of thousands of police officers from across the country traveled to New York City for Ramos’ funeral Saturday. Among them were Acton police Det. Jon Stackhouse and Boxborough police Sgt. Brett Pelley.

“It’s a brotherhood,” Stackhouse said. “We stick together through thick and thin ... we can come together in a time of need at a moment’s notice.”

Ramos leaves behind a wife and two sons.

“He was the best officer I could ask for,” his 13-year-old son, Jaden, said in a statement.


A funeral for Ramos’ partner, Wenjian Liu, will be held Sunday.
