Acton Police Find Suicidal Woman After Hours-Long Search

The 29-year-old Watertown woman abandoned her car at Kennedy's Landscaping Friday, police said.

A suicidal woman abandoned her vehicle in Acton Friday, sparking an hours-long search by authorities who eventually found her.

Police said they responded to Kennedy’s Landscaping Friday at about 5 p.m. after someone reported the woman left her vehicle and walked away. Police said they learned the woman was suicidal. They launched a search, with the Acton Fire Department, State Police, Watertown Police, and the Central Massachusetts Search and Rescue Team assisting.

The team searched until Saturday at about 2 a.m. They resumed their search at 6 a.m.

At about 10:30 a.m., police said they found the woman with self-inflicted wounds. She was transported to Emerson Hospital for treatment.
