Acton Police Investigating 'Swatting' Incident
Acton police said someone pretended to be a man in town and threatened to kill officers.

Police are searching for a suspect who on Monday pretended to be an Acton man and threatened to kill officers.
Acton police said someone called the Littleton police station and pretended to be a resident of Great Road. He said he was going to kill himself and shoot police officers.
Police responded to the address, which turned out to be a condominium unit, and found the man the suspect claimed to be. The man was cleared after talking to police, who are now searching for the real person who made the call.

The incident is a form of “swatting,” a dangerous hoax in which a caller gives a false report of a danger at a residence.
State Police units responded to the scene Monday, in addition to Acton police.
