Acton Police Log: January 23

The following information was supplied by the Acton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Keep Off The Grass:

  • 1/23/12 - 8:53 a.m. - Main Street: Police received a report about four vehicles parked on the grass.

  • Arrested on: 1/23/12 - 94 Main Street, Acton
  • Charged with: OUI (Liquor) - No Inspection Sticker - Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License - Tire Tread Depth Violation
  • Arresting Officer: Christopher N. Prehl

Shoplifter Waits in Line and Pays for Items:

  • 1/23/12 - 1:56 p.m. - Massachusetts Avenue: Store security notified the police about a shoplifter who was waiting in line. Police responded but the store did not want to press charges. The person paid for the items.

  • 1/23/12 - 6:23 p.m. - Drummer Road: A brown leather wallet containing credit cards, a license and $52 was found at Concord Tea Cakes and was returned to the Acton Police. The owner was notified.

Almost Towed:

  • 1/23/12 - 6:43 p.m. - Main Street: An unoccupied vehicle was in the breakdown lane and state police notified International Tow to take the car. The driver notified the police in time to inform them that he ran out of gas and was on his way back to fill his tank. The tow was called off.

Let Me Scratch First:

  • 1/23/12 - 9:34 p.m. - Massachusetts Avenue: A woman purchased scratch tickets but did not pay for them. Police responded and spoke with the woman and she said she was going to pay for the tickets.

Possible B&E:

  • 1/23/12 - 11:14 p.m. Old Stone Brook: A resident reported a possible breaking and entering taking place. The two subjects were spotted leaving the area on foot, holding what appeared to be a bat or a club.
