Back-to-School in Acton: What You Need To Know
Here are all the facts about this week's back-to-school schedules for Acton students.
Back-to-school has begun.
Today is the first day of orientation for students of all five elementary schools, RJ Grey Junior High 7th graders and Acton-Boxborough Regional High School 9th graders.
On Wednesday, August 31, 2011 ALL students should report to classes. School will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2011, but will be closed for Labor Day weekend on Friday, September 2, 2011 and Monday, September 5, 2011.

Hours for this year are as follows:
ABRHS: 7:23 a.m.-2:18 p.m.
Junior High: 7:30 a.m.-2:06 p.m.
Conant, McCarthy-Towne and Merriam: 8:30 a.m.-2:45 p.m. (Thursdays, 12:15 p.m. dismissal) for grades 1-6 and full-day kindergarten
Half-day Kindergarten:
AM Session: (M,T,W,F) 8:30-11:15 a.m., Thursdays 8:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
PM session (M,T,W,F) 12:00-2:45 p.m. (no school on Thursdays)
Douglas and Gates: 9:15 a.m.-3:30 p.m. (Thursdays, 1:00 p.m. dismissal) for grades 1-6 and full-day kindergarten
Half-day Kindergarten: AM Session (M,T,W,F) 9:15 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (Thursdays 9:15 a.m.-1:00 p.m.)
PM Session 12:45 p.m.-3:30 p.m. (no school on Thursdays)
Lunch prices have increased. Elementary students pay $2.35. A-B student meals start at $2.10. Milk only remains at $.50 per carton.
Prior year’s lunch tickets will be accepted, but the difference in price ($.10) must be paid in cash.

Consult Food Services for important news about upcoming changes which include an option to pre-order gluten-free meals and the implementation of a Point of Sale system at all school cafeterias.

McCarthy-Towne: September 19, 2011
Each school will communicate details (times, format, etc.) to its students' parents.
