A further study on Acton's high property tax bills.
In a recent article on Acton's high property taxes, we selected a group of 32 towns in Massachusetts that have the highest "Average Single-Family Home" (ASFH) property tax. On this list, Acton is 16th, or the median of the group, at $9,832 for FY 2014. This is the peer group of towns for which Acton’s property tax bills are comparable.

The prior article found three independent measures showing that Acton has high property taxes relative to its peer group. Acton was 31st in per-capita income, 28th in per-capita EQV (total wealth), and 2nd in total income that goes towards residential property taxes.
Having a high property tax bill is not a problem if one has the income to afford it. In our group of the 32 highest property tax bills in the state, with Acton's bill being the median, how affordable are the bills for the average household?
