Acton Special Town Meeting: What's On The Warrant, What To Know

Acton will have two Special Town Meetings in December.

ACTON, MA — Acton's December Special Town Meeting is coming up, but this year, instead of one, the town is hosting two separate meetings. The previously scheduled Dec. 10 meeting is staying the same but another Dec. 3 meeting will also take place.

The town said the Dec. 3 meeting was scheduled after a Citizens’ Petition was filed on October 24, 2019. By State Law the Board of Selectmen was required to call a Special Town Meeting for the Citizens’ Petition within 45 days of the filing date — meaning the meeting had to be scheduled before Dec. 8.

The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Acton-Boxborough Regional High School Auditorium.

The petition is focused on whether the town should have a comprehensive build-out and traffic analysis before voting on expanding sewers in West Acton. Over 200 residents signed the petition. The question about traffic and build-out will be the only one on the warrant.
