Acton Student to Take Part of Project 351 Dedication in Boston

Rif Beebe, an Acton student from RJ Grey Junior High, will join Gov. Deval Patrick and other students from across the Commonwealth on Saturday, for a day of service as part of the annual Project 351.. 

Rif was selected for Project 351 by Acton Public Schools Superintendent Stephen Mills because of the exceptional commitment to service that he has shown.

More than 300 eighth-graders representing the Commonwealth's 351 cities and towns will take part of the annual Project 351. Launched during Patrick’s inaugural in 2010, Project 351 is dedicated to celebrating youth leadership, inspiring the ethic of service, and recognizing the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Patrick has planned to again host a morning Youth Town Meeting at the State House before joining ambassadors for an afternoon of service at five non-profit and educational organizations across Boston:

• Cradles to Crayons, 155 North Beacon Street, Brighton
• Greater Boston Food Bank, 70 South Bay Avenue, Boston
• Pine Street Inn, 444 Harrison Avenue, Boston
• Hennigan Elementary School/BCYF Community Center, 200 Heath Street, Jamaica Plain
• Amory Street Housing, 125 Amory Street, Jamaica Plain

The day will conclude at the State House where ambassadors and Patrick will reflect on the day and celebrate the legacy of Dr. King.
