Acton Students' Generosity Shines In Huge Way

Two Gates Elementary students gave more than 300 books to Boston Police - and that was after collecting and giving more than 1,000!

ACTON, MA — Two students from Gates Elementary School on Friday donated more than 300 books to the Boston Police Department, so that the department could hand them out to children in need.

Henry, 12, and Faith, 9, became inspired by the book "I Will Always Write Back: How One Letter Changed Two Lives." The book is about a girl from America and a boy from Zimbabwe who become pen pals and learn about different cultures. One major message Henry and Faith got: A small contribution can make a huge difference.

And so, the two Gates students organized a book drive and collected more than 1,000 books. Delta Airlines helped transport those books to children in need in South Africa.
