Acton Transfer Station: New Food Waste Collection Program
Getting rid of your food waste at the Acton Transfer Station? Here's some information you might want to know.

ACTON, MA—The Acton Transfer Station now has a new food waste program.
The new program is funded by a Department of Environmental Protection grant, and hopes to be better for the environment.
Here’s an example what will now go in the food waste collection of the Transfer Station, according to the town’s notice.

ACCEPTABLE:
Meat, Bones, Dairy Products, Seafood, Fruit, Vegetables, Shells, Coffee Grounds, Filters, Tea Bags, Soiled Paper Napkins, Wet or Waxed Cardboard, Floral Clippings and Approved Compostable Products. For a list of approved compostable products click here.

NOT ACCEPTABLE:
Plastic, Metal, Liquid, Styrofoam, Lids, Wrappers (candy, butter, etc.), Plastic Gloves, Plastic Coated Containers (frozen food boxes, cups, cartons), Plastic Straws, Plastic Strapping, Broken Plates, Branches
