  • With three other candidates, was there any worry about being re-elected?

For a few reasons, I did not worry about being re-elected. First, I believed that my first term spoke well for the skills that I had brought to the Board and how I had used those abilities to the benefit of the Board and the Town. Second, although I believed that I was a strong incumbent candidate, I did not take re-election for granted, and invested as much time and effort on my re-election as I did on my initial election in 2010. Third, I was prepared for the possibility of a different outcome.  I am, of course, thankful that the voters decided to give me a second term, but if the results had been different, I would have been able to accept them and move on.

  • Who would you like to thank in regards to your re-election?
  • What are you looking forward to in your next term?

To start, I am eager to have the new Board organize and start working together. We have a strong team and I believe that the coming year will be a very productive one. Looking further into the future, I am hoping that the Board will make progress on some longer term, larger-scale tasks that have been appearing on the Board’s long-range annual goals year after year.

Katie Green

I'll just say that I'm touched and honored to have been elected Acton's next Selectman. I owe my deepest thanks to the many people who supported and helped me along the way. I would not have won this race without their hard work. I am also grateful to the voters for placing their faith in me and I am looking forward to putting in the hard work and addressing the challenges facing our community over the next three years.
